Villagers face challenges of providing adequate instructional space and supplies for effective teaching to take place.
A quality learning environment can have a profound impact on both teacher and student outcomes. We partner with village communities on school construction, school supplies, and other projects that improve education.
Continuing Education
Literacy workshops and formal learning opportunities empower villagers to achieve their goals for self-reliance.
We provide two continuing education programs to empower villagers toward self-reliance:

Facilities & Supplies
Barriers like early marriage, child labor, domestic work, violence, and discrimination prevent girls from educational opportunities.
Our education councils, teacher training, literacy workshops, and facilities all work to support education for girls in Mali. Our local staff works with the education councils to engage local leaders and administration to create and foster healthy educational experiences.

Miriam Samake
Mariam is a ninth grader from the village of Tamala. She attended our partner elementary school in Tamala. Completing her elementary education empowered her to continue her schooling. She learned to work hard and hopes her efforts will help change her parents’ living conditions. She hopes to finish her education and become an OB/GYN when she grows up.
