The Alliance is seeking a part-time seasonal coordinator to support our signature fundraising event, the 37th Annual Gala Auction to be held on April 29, 2023. This contract position is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of fundraising, event planning and marketing while working for a great cause.


Description of Job Duties:

  • Work in coordination with OA Board auction committee

  • Solicit in-kind donations for silent auction by phone, email and/or in person visits

  • Oversee Greater Giving data entry of the auction team and perform detailed data entry on donors, solicitations, and auction items

  • Arrange the delivery and pick-up of silent auction items 

  • Assist with silent auction packaging, preparing the online auction, and other event preparations

  • Manage layout of silent auction at the event

  • Manage the pick-up and delivery of items after the event

  • Plan social media posts to tease items prior to the event

  • Help train and manage auction interns, staff, board members and volunteers as it relates to the auction


  • Enthusiasm for the mission of Ouelessebougou Alliance and humanitarian work

  • Comfortable making solicitations, sales and event experience preferred but not required

  • Self-motivated, dependable and efficient with time management 

  • Committed to finishing projects

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, Google Docs, data entry, social media, etc.

  • Experience with Greater Giving or other auction software a plus

  • Must have personal computer and phone

Location: Remote work with in-person meetings 1-3x a week as the Gala approaches. 

Salary: $14 per hour with a $500 bonus at the end of the Gala if targets were met. 


Contract Period: December 12, 2022 – May 5, 2023

Hours:  Dec – March:  10 hours/weekly
April:  20-30 hours/weekly – as we ramp up for the Gala.
