We partner with Malians to achieve each village’s literacy goals through teacher training, formal education and continued learning.
Mariam is a ninth grader from the village of Tamala. She attended our partner elementary school in Tamala. Completing her elementary education empowered her to continue her schooling. She learned to work hard and hopes her efforts will help change her parents’ living conditions. She hopes to finish her education and become an OB/GYN when she grows up.
We currently partner with 12 elementary schools in the Ouelessebougou region. These villages have active Alliance-supported education councils who facilitate education programs in their schools. They work closely with school leadership and teachers to improve the quality of education. We also provide continued learning opportunities for youth and adults.
Together we are working to improve the literacy of thousands of villagers.
We empower girls and women by promoting and improving gender equality at our village schools and other learning programs.
